As we look back on 2025, we at Foot Balance Technology (FBTech) can confidently say that this year has been one of meaningful progress and renewed purpose. Our team, our partners and the broader clinical community have continued to inspire us, and this blog brings together the key highlights that shaped our journey. From professional events to new clinical insights and patient education, we’re proud to share what we’ve achieved - and offer a glimpse of what awaits in 2026.

Strengthening Our Presence Across Australia and Internationally

One of the defining features of 2025 was Foot Balance Technology’s strengthened engagement with foot health professionals and organisations across Australia and internationally. This year, we focused on extending the reach of our technology-enabled pedorthic approach, which combines clinical assessment, advanced digital scanning, customised footwear and orthotic fabrication to address complex foot and lower-limb needs. As regular visitors to this website would be aware, Foot Balance Technology operates as a pedorthic practice rooted in direct patient assessment and personalised device solutions and this year reaffirmed the importance of working alongside referring clinicians - including podiatrists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists - in ways that support their care pathways. Through dialogue, shared learning and tailored product guidance, we continued to ensure that practitioners and patients alike can benefit from evidence-informed, fit-for-purpose solutions specific to their clinical requirements.

2nd Diabetes Awareness Forum - Wentworthville, NSW

Foot Balance Technology had a stand at the 2nd Diabetes Awareness Forum at the Wenty Leagues Club in Western Sydney in late March 2025. This event showcased insights into foot health for healthcare professionals and the public and was chaired by our founder and director, Dr Sayed Ahmed (see feature image).

PAA Conference – Kingscliff, NSW

Foot Balance Technology was also represented at the Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) National Conference in Kingscliff in September 2025 through Dr Sayed Ahmed. Dr Ahmed contributed to several professional discussions that brought FBT’s evidence‑based approach to the pedorthic community.

DFA Conference – Darling Harbour, Sydney

In November 2025, our team made a significant impact at the Diabetes Feet Australia (DFA) Conference in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

FBT was proudly represented by:

  • Dr Sayed Ahmed – Founder & Director, who shared clinical insights on foot health and customised device solutions.
  • Dr Martin Nguyen – Clinic & Research Podiatrist, contributing professional expertise and patient‑centred perspectives.
  • Professor Ashad Kabir – Digital Health Scientist and research collaborator, whose work supports innovations in diagnostic and measurement technologies.

Their presentations covered topics including cultural, climatic and behavioural factors affecting footwear adherence, clinical strategies to enhance patient outcomes and the role of digital tools in foot health management. Their combined contributions helped raise awareness of FBT’s clinical focus and encouraged valuable dialogue among practitioners.

Internationally: 3rd Diabetic Foot Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

In early February, Dr Sayed Ahmed, attended the 3rd Diabetic Foot Conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he presented an oral abstract and was honoured with second place in the Oral Abstract Presentation category. His work focused on prevention strategies, wound care advancements and offloading techniques, reflecting his commitment to global foot health innovation and knowledge exchange.

Expanding Awareness of Who We Serve

At Foot Balance Technology, our focus is on delivering pedorthic assessment, personalised footwear and orthotic solutions and professional support that meets the needs of people with diverse foot and lower-limb challenges. Unlike companies that specialise primarily in manufacturing and supplying custom orthopaedic devices to clinicians, Foot Balance Technology operates as a clinical pedorthic practice, providing direct assessment and tailored solution design for individuals referred by healthcare professionals or seeking specialised foot care.

We proudly support a wide range of clients and collaborators, including:

  • Referring healthcare professionals, such as podiatrists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists, who integrate our assessments and recommendations into their care plans
  • Individuals with complex foot and mobility needs, including those managing pain, foot deformities, diabetic foot complications, neuropathy and gait abnormalities
  • Children requiring specialised footwear for growth or developmental conditions
  • Older adults and disability support clients seeking improved comfort, stability and mobility
  • Participants in NDIS and aged care programs who benefit from custom pedorthic solutions to support daily function

We utilise comprehensive clinical assessment including gait and pressure analysis, 3D scanning and diagnostic tools, combined with custom footwear and orthotic design, to address functional issues and enhance comfort, alignment, and mobility.

In 2025, we deepened our connection with this community by emphasising education, transparency and practical guidance. Our blogs, resources and technical materials were developed to help clinicians and clients make well-informed decisions about orthotic and footwear options, ensuring that technology and care choices align with individual goals and professional recommendations.

Exciting Times Ahead

As we look toward 2026, Foot Balance Technology remains committed to advancing pedorthic excellence and supporting both referring clinicians and individuals through evidence-informed practice and technology-led solutions. We specialise in in custom pedorthic services, including detailed biomechanical assessment, advanced digital foot scanning, gait analysis and personalised footwear and orthotic solutions tailored to meet unique mobility needs.

Our work continues to be guided by collaboration with healthcare professionals and research partnerships that help keep us at the forefront of pedorthic innovation. These collaborative efforts focus on improving comfort, mobility and functional outcomes using state-of-the-art digital tools, 3D scanning, CAD/CAM fabrication and customised device design.
